Tulsa Rainbow Run

Tulsa Pride Weekend held June 6 & 7 will have an extra event for the second year, the Rainbow Run.  The Rainbow Run will be held on June 7. The Rainbow run will benefit Oklahomans for Equality whose mission is to seek equal rights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) individuals, and families through advocacy, education, programs and alliances. 

The Rainbow Run will offer a 5k USTAF certified run & a ½ mile fun run.  The run will route through the East Village ending in Centennial Park.  The ½  mile fun run will begin at 9:00 with the 5K starting at 10:00 and the costume contest and awards ceremony around 11:00

There will be prizes awarded in the 1K fun run for the best race costume, best running heels and best pet costume.  Dogs are welcome in the fun run as well as strollers and children. 

All runners and their families are invited to stay after the run and participate in the Pride Picnic festivities held at Centennial Park starting at noon.  More information on the picnic can be found at http://www.okeq.org/tulsapride.html
