TULSA, Okla. —

A Tulsa girl who was honored by area police officers, firefighters and community members has died.

"Officer" Aaliyah Alexander was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor in 2015.

She died Sunday at age five.

Her family held a fundraiser last month to help her third battle against cancer in three years last month.

Tulsa police, firefighters and community member surprised her, and Alexander was made an honorary police officer with her own uniform and badge.

Tulsa police officer Popsey Floyd took to Facebook Sunday to remember Alexander just weeks after he'd helped her fulfill her dream of becoming a police officer for a day.

Aaliyah Alexander's funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Harvest Time Outreach Ministries at 2333 E. 48th St. N. It will be open to the public, but a viewing will only be available to family members.
